16 More
NEW! - scans and posts on
the Photos Page! I've got 32 old rolls remaining, and I just did some more
shooting this weekend; I'm trying to balance processing old and new stuff
because I'm real excited about the newer stuff I've been shooting. I'm
trying to get more experience shooting in low light. It's difficult
because I'm shooting with film. I hate using the flash, but I'm realising
that I have to suck it up and deal. Conveniently, I'm getting better at
using the filters and lenses to even out the flash to keep it from blowing out
the shots. Examples can be seen in the recent sets from Jenni Alpert and
Stephanie's Id at the 13th Floor of the Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore.

NEW! - scans and posts on
the photos page!
-2007 05 31-
So... I have finished scanning, processing, and posting the 32 rolls I've
processed over the past couple of weeks. They're all in the main photo
gallery and include shots from as far back as the end of August 2005! I've
got 48+ rolls at home to process, so they'll be on their way as soon as I get to
them. In the meantime, though,
enjoy.
-2007 05 17-
Oh, man! So, I finally got my pair of Nikon LS-2000 film scanners, with
SA-20 strip-film adapters working! That means I'm finally able to catch up
on all that crazy shit I took 2 years ago in ABQ!
So, look forward to a LOT more shots from 2005 NPS, as well as some stuff from
2006 NPS in Austin, where DCB took 4th!
-2007 05 04-
One more photo set added to general gallery. I've got sooooo many rolls to
process. Hopefully, I'll get some time to tackle them after I finish up my
finals. Stay Tuned... or something like that...
-2006 08 25-
So, yeah, I updated the images on the splash and on this page. I also
added my schools to the 3rd party page and two more galleries to the full
gallery. I'm using a new layout for the
galleries, which I kinda like.
Lemme know what you think.
-2006 08 01-
So, of course, as soon as I repair access to the site, it locks me out again.
Figures...
Anyway, I've added pics of Luceille in progress. This first set is at the
beginning of Phase II- Interior of rear passenger floorpan. In the shots,
I've already cleared out the bad shit, but haven't yet attached the strap or
interior panel. You can also see the wheel well work.
I also added information about ordering the DC/ Baltimore Poetry Slam Team's
2006 GrandSlam CDs (sorry, no DVDs).
-2006 07 11-
holy bleeding piss! I've been trying to update this fucking site for 4
months, now, but I couldn't log in to my server! I finally (as you can
see) have managed to do so, but it involved working with our server
administrator in Philly and unloading and reloading the FP extensions AND
upgrading to a newer version of FrontPage! GRRRRR!
-2006 03 13-
wow... been a long time. Well, the winter is going well, as my LiveJournal
will attest. I, unfortunately, have been slow to get more photos
up, or to work on the Portfolio
page... yeah, I know... I suck sometimes. Anyway, I am modifying stuff on
the Poetry-in-Text-Form page, so you
should check that out.
-2005 09 11-
I'm finally in the process of creating a portfolio
page with the good stuff I'd like to call my "portfolio" (apt
title, eh?)...
-2005 09 07-
I am in the process of adding the ©granmadave watermark to the pics and
updating the galleries. Also, I am adding galleries. It's good
times, to be sure.
-2005 09 02-
I updated a lot of the pages from the Nickel City weekend, giving names to those
I knew.
-2005 08 31-
I've been a scanning fool! pushing an abusive fuckton of images to the picture
pages
-2005 08 20-
Changed
a few "NEW! - "s
to .
Added a few
"Coming Soon! -"s
Yeah, so... I blew 44 rolls (1116 frames, appx) in Albuquerque last week, so
they'll be a while 'til they're up, but they're coming. I might suck it up
and pay Ritz to scan and print singles for me, just to save some fucking time on
this whole thing. I had 14 rolls prior to ABQ, so scanning 58 rolls is
going to take a damned long time, y'know? I dunno... I'll figure something
out. If you'd like to help with money, hit me an email: granmadave@yahoo.com.
(thank you all so much for your support!)

So, it's been a while,
but I've got several photo galleries coming real soon. I've been a
scanning fool lately, so look forward to that good stuff.
Upcoming events in the world of granmadave include the Nickel City Poetry Slam
in Buffalo, NY on 29 July and the National Poetry Slam in Albuquerque, NM from
Aug 10 to 13.
I will be competing this year at NPS as a "Storm Poet," an individual
competitor representing myself, not any city.
Please support my endeavors as well as the 2005 DC/Baltimore NPS Team - www.dcslam.com
or www.slamicide.com

-2005 06 26-
The DVDs are
ready! They are available for pickup! Yippie!
-2005 06 24-
okay! So, I
finally got off my ass and uploaded some of my poetry
in text form!
Also, I updated the Splash page to include this addition and I changed some of
the text on this-here page.
-2005 06 22-
Added more info to the inventory of my equipment. Mainly, it was just
nitpicky stuff that doesn't really matter to anyone but me, but that's okay.
Oh, and I fixed the updates page a little... just some
cleanup stuff... replacing < P > with < BR > and that kind of
thing...
-2005 06 20-
So, I almost have my
portfolio ready. When I do, I'll put up a nice little page for it. Wish
me luck with bagging some gigs and such.
Speaking of photos, I
just added another 23 folders to the Shiny
Objects page. Enjoy.
Oh, and the SLAM DVDs ARE READY!
-2005 06 16-
Stay tuned for more
Audio stuff! I had forgotten that I had recorded several shows from
YourMom's Summer Tour 2004, so I'm working on getting them up on the
Performances Page. They can be purchased on CD, if you'd like. Just
hit me an email, granmadave@yahoo.com,
and I'll get one out to you. I am working on trying to put a PayPal link
on the Order Form, which will facilitate purchasing stuff. The Slam Team
DVDs are almost ready, too, so those should go out soon. I will contact
everyone that has pre-ordered, so we can finalize the purchase process.
I've been a scanning machine, too, so 27 more rolls of pics are on the
way, with 8 more to follow soon thereafter!
-2005 06 07-
Rearranged the photos
folders (transparent changes that help me... and don't really help you all that
much), added more links, etc.
Added HitCounter to
splash page.
-2005 06 06-
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww,
PHOTOS!
-2005 06 01-
Oh, man- Guess WHAT?! More
Photos!
-2005 05 31-
Added two more folders of pics
from back in February: Ed Zeppelin at DCS and SLAMicide and Amiri Baraka at CCBC-Essex.
-2005 05 30-
Happy Memorial Day!
So, today, I worked on
the splash page and some more of the photo
pages.
-2005 05 26-
More updates to Shiny
Objects, with more to come. Replaced index
with a splash page.
-2005 05 25-
Added some more
information to Shiny Objects
page, and I'm in the process of adding more pages of shots.
-2005 05 23-
Added some Photo sets on
Shiny Objects page, rearranged multimedia
files, and added the Track List to YourMom's
Audio Debauchery
-2005 05 18-
New Images Page! It’s under construction (like everything
else in the Baltimore area), but it’sa be cool when it’s done. You’ll be able to browse by roll or group,
and you’ll be able to order prints and such.
You can do that now, but it’s a lot more difficult because of the bulk
of the Shiny Objects page. So yeah…
yippie!

i.o.n…
I apologise for blitzing out tonight.
I had to go back (here) to my office to finish up a school dvd
project. I didn’t expect to be leaving
DC at 2330. Furthermore, y’all should
know by now not to EVER pack my car for me or rearrange my belongings. I understand the physics of Luceille better
than any of you, and I had a plan for how it was going to work. Chris, I forgive you, because I know it was
not your fault. Sarah (not my ex,
folks), please understand that you should never ever do that again. Yes, I understand you were only trying to
help, but I am way too controlling to allow that kind of thing. Thank you for understanding.

Cabaret Girl- Or, "I hope I don't fuck this up"
[Error: Irreparable invalid
markup ('<lj-cut="the>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents
below.]
s'okay... so... over the past few
weeks, i have become increasingly infatuated with this girl at the Cabaret. She
is fucking awesome!
<lj-cut="the rest of the story">
In the grand tradition of all this kind of thing, homegirl caught my eye months
ago by being her usual vibrant self. This, of course, was complemented by the
fact that she's fucking hot! S'anniay, I decided I needed to try to go out with
her. So, I did what every good american man does, and I pussied out.
I let myself get blocked by a 16 year old who simply talks too much.
weak.
That was a week ago tonight. The following monday, she came to SLAMicide, and I
was going to ask her out then, to be my date to the BUDS on Thursday, but she
disappeared immediately after we wrapped up. Not to worry, though, I googled
her, found some neat articles about shows she's done, left a message to someone
who happened to be her ex and who happened to have been at the Cab and saw my
show on Saturday, and who happened to have her listed as one of his heroes. I
also sent an email to HITW to see if they could let her know I was trying to
track her down.
I was on a mission.
She responded the next evening, and after a terribly charming, totally
giddiness-infecting series of emails, we had a date set for Thursday. But
there's a catch- I needed to be at the slam at 7; she was to be busy until
about 8.5! So,,, Chris picked her up and brought her to the show. She and I
wound up with no plan after ward, so we wound up back at my place where we hung
out for a while, talked, kissed, and went to bed.
Word.
She was in a show that Chris and I went to see last night, and she and I hung
out and talked in her car until some inappropriate hour of the morning.
Tonight, after the Cab, she went out with Chris, Delrica, and a whole bunch of
us to the PMD, where we hung out for an inappropriate amount of time.
</lj-cut>
I really fucking like this girl. And I think she likes me, too. And that's
fucking awesome.
-2005 04 15-
date = awesome!
I don't know what's to become of it,
but I really like this girl. She's fun, energetic, sexy, beautiful, and
positively radiant. I didn't really plan the thing out very well, so we
wound up back at my place after the Slam. We hung out with my little
sister for a little while, then went to bed. Very chill... or, at least,
that's my story. So, we shall see what happens, no?
-2005 04 14-
so... i've got a date, i've got a
date, i've got a date, hey hey hey hey!
tee-hee!
um... yeah. This week is nuts!
Last night was the SlamAIDS benefit,
that was handed to this chick that went to, like, an hour, but still stole
Chris' $150... weak.
Tonight is Da Battle uv Da Skoolz
slam at 218 W.
Tomorrow, I'ma go see An Old, Cracked
Tune at Spotlighters.www.spotlighters.org
Saturday, we've got the NUSPAs
(National Underground Spokenword and Poetry Awards) www.greatpublishing.com
Sunday, we're back on for the
DCSlam! www.DCSlam.com
As far as the site, as you may have
noticed, I've edited the intro pic a little. It will eventually be an
imagemap, but you'll have to wait for that. FP2K is being a dick.
Wish me luck tonight!!!
-2005 04 11-
the Hole in the Wall Cabaret this
last Saturday was AWESOME! Please come out next week to support the
absolutely AMAZING
Chris August
when he features at le Cabaret on the
night of the 16th!
Also, I have fixed the Performances
links above, so they should work now.
